Naveen Gowda

Naveen is a mechanical engineering student at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and hails from the Bangalore Rural district in India. Naveen and his sisters are the first in their family to attend university.

Sona Kumar

Sona was born in Tharparkar, Pakistan, and migrated with his family to a worker’s colony in Karachi. Sona is currently working towards a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance degree at Lahore University of Management Sciences, where he is part of the university’s National Outreach Program. He is also a member of the university’s Mathematics society where he is responsible for managing society activities and events.

Thiri Lwin

Thiri is a Bachelor of Arts (Business Administration) student at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She grew up in Ysangyo, Magway Division in Myanmar. Her father keeps chickens and works on construction sites and her mother was a primary school teacher.  She wants to contribute to the Myanmar economy  using her business and content-creation skills.

Wang Ying

Ying hails from Ninglang Yi Autonomous County, Lijiang City, Yunnan Province in China. Both her parents and grandparents are farmers. Ying learned the basics of economics by observing her family’s business of growing and selling agricultural products. Ying is currently working towards a Bachelor of Business Administration degree at Southwest Minzu University. She is the first in her family to attend university.
