Director of Finance and Operations

The Director of Finance and Operations will be responsible for:

  • Accounting
    • Managing the day-to-day accounting of the investment vehicles managed by the Firm
    • Reviewing the net-asset-value calculations and fees calculations of such vehicles
    • Monitoring the valuation of securities portfolios and resolving any pricing discrepancies
    • Managing annual audits
  • Operations and compliance
    • Managing day-to-day relationships with service providers including fund administrators, prime brokers, ISDA counterparties, executing brokers, and custodians
    • Managing team members responsible for trading and middle-office functions, including trade processing, trade settlements, reconciliations (P&L, cash, and positions), and corporate actions
    • Overseeing cash movements
    • Working on process enhancements
    • Maintaining the books and records of the Firm and its investment vehicles
    • Preparing periodic regulatory filings, including Forms ADV, PF, and 13F
    • Periodically reviewing investment-vehicle documents
    • Monitoring adherence to investment-management agreements and side letters
  • Investor relations
    • Preparing investor reports
    • Preparing responses to ad hoc investor requests
    • Reviewing and processing investor capital activities (capital calls, transfers, redemptions, etc.)

We will consider candidates with the following qualifications, skillsets, and experience:

  • Finance, accounting or related business degree or equivalent work experience, preferably (but not necessarily) with a CPA qualification
  • 7-12 years of experience with hedge fund accounting and operations
  • Experience with international equity and derivatives(total return swaps and credit default swaps) trading operations
  • Experience working with team members in multiple locations and time zones
  • Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel) and Bloomberg
