Chief Financial Officer

The CFO will be responsible for:

  • Accounting
    • Managing the accounting of the investment vehicles managed by the Firm
    • Approving net-asset-value and fee calculations
    • Overseeing the valuation of securities portfolios and resolving any pricing discrepancies
    • Reviewing and approving annual audits
  • Operations and compliance
    • Managing relationships with service providers including fund administrators, prime brokers, ISDA counterparties, executing brokers, and custodians
    • Maintaining/reviewing the books and records of the Firm and its investment vehicles
    • Approving cash movements and vendor payments
    • Periodically reviewing investment-vehicle documents
    • Monitoring adherence to investment-management agreements and side letters
  • Investor relations
    • Overseeing investor reports
    • Responding to ad hoc investor requests
    • Reviewing and processing investor capital activities (capital calls, transfers, redemptions, etc.)
    • Build financial models to capture key value drivers and company valuation

We will consider candidates with the following qualifications, skillsets, and experience:

  • Finance, accounting or related business degree or equivalent work experience, preferably (but not necessarily) with a CPA qualification
  • 12+ years of experience with previous experience CFO or a controller at a hedge fund
  • Experience with hedge-fund tax and management-company accounting
  • Experience with international equity and derivatives(total return swaps and credit default swaps)
  • Experience managing team members in multiple locations and time zones
  • Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel), Bloomberg, and QuickBooks
